The first generation went by "Crosstrek XV" in many regions, but from 2018 on, the "XV" was dropped from the name. In order to attain the extra ground clearance compared to the Impreza, the subframe units that hold the suspension are spaced from the unibody, and the struts and shock absorbers are longer.
